Stitch Nerd!

I had to share this great sewing supply source for pressing hams on etsy.Sonia was a pleasure to work with. She and I have a bit in common having grown up in a sewing environment as she mentioned on her about me page "I grew up surrounded by industrial sewing machines, cutting tables and clothing production" On her Choose a Product page I found out that she made this "Custom Handmade Contour Professional Size Tailor's Pressing Ham" I immediately knew I needed one after seeing it online. Aside from how well made it looked, I could see how it would really add to my current pressing equipment set up. I also saw that she recovers old hams adding an Upcycle element to this adventure. Sonia has a great assortment of fabrics to choose from on her Stitch Nerd Custom Shop site but I already knew what I wanted and it was fine to send fabric too. So I looked at my calendar to see if I could make do without my regular ham and seam roll for a couple of weeks and sent them off for a make over. Sonia was kind enough to pre wash and treat my new fabrics before she used them which was great! Another great feature she does is the added hanging tags making storage a breeze. Overall I am totally happy with my new and upcycled hams and her prices are very reasonable for the high quality of her work, turn around time and the effort and care put into packaging and shipment. Please enjoy the attached photos! The wooden ham holder is a vintage June Taylor I found -and participated in a bidding war for- on eBay. Thanks again Sonia!
